Thrivent Community at Redeemer

The Thrivent Community at Redeemer formed in 2012 when Thrivent Financial for Lutherans invited the congregation to participate in a program to increase outreach to our local communities. Thrivent provided the seed money that has improved the lives of the people of Vineland and beyond. This group now continues its outreach work with Action Teams, Thrivent Choice Dollars and special Thrivent Chapter Grants. Projects have provided clothing and personal care items to people living in shelters and the Code Blue Program. It has purchased supplies and food for the Oktoberfest, special dinners, the soup kitchen, Redeemer’s food pantry as well as assistance to Redeemer members in need. In addition, many new or updated items were supplied to the church facility. They include a new storage safe and new cooking utensils, the partial financial assistance to the replacement of the kneelers, the sound system upgrade and the holiday swags and wreaths.

The people of Redeemer have been quite involved by volunteering time and making donations of products to the various projects sponsored by the Thrivent Community. You too can get involved by volunteering and you do not even have to be a Thrivent Financial member. How can you help? Anyone can assist with an Action Team project:

Say “YES” when a Community Team member invites you to be part of his/her Action Team. Each Action Team is allocated up to $250 for a project.

The following community members can provide information and guide those who are interested in forming an Action Team: Dawn Amari, Jim & Kathy Clay, Arlene Cherwien, Darlene Morvay, Gayle Penven, Dick & Carol Shenton, Wayne & Mindy Grant, Greg Kendall, Dale Nichols, Herb & Deb Wegner, Matt Helland, and Marilyn & Don Jourdan.
